Interviews

Who are you going to interview and why?
I'm planning on interviewing Kate Moore, who won the texting competition last year, as a texting expert, because she is. I'm also going to be meeting with someone in New York that works in the communications industry. I don't know exactly what his job is yet, but I need to interview someone involved in communications, and I know he is.

What other questions will you ask and why?
I would also like to ask about their background, and ask how and why they got into what they do. I want to explore why other people chose this field, and to compare it with my own reasons. I'll probably ask what their favorite part of their job is, and if they would recommend it to someone like me to go into as well.

Topic Choice

My topic is Text Messaging, and how it's revolutionized the communication world. I will explore the positive and negative effects texting has had on society, and I hope to learn more about it than what I know now, which is just pushing buttons to tell your friends something.

I chose this topic because it's something I enjoy to do, it's a common thing that people use everyday but don't really think about everything that goes into or has come out of texting, and being involved in a national competition for texting really inspired me to find out more about this topic.

I hope to learn more about it, how it works, who invented it, when the first text message was sent, how it has evolved over the years, and how it's predicted to further itself in the upcoming years. I would also like to study all the effects this invention has had over the world, and figure out if it's more positive effects or more negative effects.
